Katie Thurston opens about how her battle with breast cancer has affected her close relationship with a husband Jeff Arches.
“Maybe in the short term just because of all the medical things I was going through,” Thurston, 34, wrote through Instagram story On Saturday, April 12, in response to a question from a fan who asked and changed “intimacy” to her since being diagnosed Breast Cancer in February.
“I go (sic) to recover from egg recovery, multiple biopsies, port location,” continued the alum bachelorette. “It’s been a painful month for my body. But as all the dust settles and my body gets better, things will go back to normal.”
Last week, Thurston shared that her cancer has been “confirmed” as Her2-negative which, according to Cleveland Clinic, means that her type of breast cancer “means having cancerous cells in you that they do not contain high levels of the protein human epidermal growth factor protein 2.”
“What This is not chemo”Thurston shared through Instagram on Thursday, April 10.“ Instead I will be on Letrozole + Kisqali + Zoladex as my first treatment line. This is a practice-based scheme that (/) gets her2-negative breast cancer, luminal B, hormone-positive. Letrozole to block estrogen, Kisqali to prevent cancer cells from growing, and Zoladex to close my ovaries. “

By the kindness of Katie Thurston/InstagramHowever, this does not mean that chemo is completely off -table. “Can we need a chemo in the future? Perhaps,” he explained. “If this treatment stops working or the cancer grows again, it is an option that we will revisit. We will monitor the treatment plan closely and make it work for my body.”
On Saturday, Thurston further collapsed her post-chemo treatment plan. “Once a month I get a shot in my stomach (Zoladex),” he wrote. “Every day I take a daily pill.
He further explained, “I have phase 4 breast cancer, which is considered final because it is non -healing,” but added, “That does not mean I am dying at the moment.”
“With today’s treatments, many people live for years, even decades, when managing it as a chronic illness,” Thurston continued. “It’s serious, but that’s not the end. Also you can be step 4 by definition but without ‘evidence of disease.’ Think of it as small cancer subjects flowing through my body. They are there forever.
He finished, “Currently shrinking their army,” with a middle finger emoji.
Weekly US confirm On March 22, Thurston and Arcuri, 36, tied the knot in the middle of her health journey. “I want to be able to be in hospital with her and be like, ‘My wife is there.’ There is more power to that, ”Arcuri told us at the time. “I don’t want to be with you for any of this.”
