Saif shared that cricket was deeply rooted in his family, treated almost like a religion. Both his father and grandfather captained the Indian cricket team, with his grandfather even playing against legendary Australia blender Don Bradman. Although he also played cricket, he admitted that the mental demands of the game, which required patience and timing, were not his strong points, which eventually ended his cricketing aspirations prematurely.

Cricket was in my blood. In my house it was treated like a religion. Not only my father, my grandfather has also played for the Indian team. Both also captained the team. My grandfather even played against the great batsman Don Bradman. I have also played cricket but it is a very mental game. It requires patience and time. I really missed this thing. That’s why I couldn’t play it much and my career in this game was ruined before I could even get there,” Saif was quoted as saying by SportsTak.
