Festive manufacturers, who are sent to Tenneriff in the Canary Islands, warn to prepare for disruption when hotel workers take part in the strikes at the beginning of the festive weekend Easter banks.

The organizers say that workers on the island strike on Thursday and Friday in a row about paying and conditions.

Industrial actions were to stay through the Canary Islands, but the Grand Cans, Lansarot and Furteventura have been reached.

Trade unions say that about 80,000 hotels workers on Tenerife, La Palm, La -Homer and El Ster will still bring measures.

UK Foreign Bureau warned travelers To wait for the disruption to the Easter weekend and check the tips of their tour operator and follow the tips of the authorities.

According to the law, the strikers must provide a “minimum service”, but the Union Obraras comiones, who called the strike, says that cleaning hotels, food and entertainment does not enter this category.

It states that minimal services should include things such as reception and concierge, cleaning, restaurants and cooking, violate workers’ right.

“The introduction of minimum services is illegitimate, disproportionate and legally impossible to restrict the basic right to strike,” the union said.

Industrial actions occur after a number of protests last year in the Canary Islands and Spanish mainland over mass tourism.

The locals say tourism has pushed housing costs outside the sustainable level so that people live in the islands.

They emphasize that they are not against the tourist industry, which accounts for 35% of the Canar’s economy, but there was a need for a more sustainable model that takes into account the environment, such as water deficiency and has less pressure on costs and housing.
