Ten dead in shooting with Austrian school, according to police

Ten people were killed in school shooting in the Austrian city of Graz, police said.

The incident took place at the Dreierschützengasse high school in the northwest of the city.

Police said the militant was among the dead, and the Austrian APA agency reports that seven dead were students.

According to local media, there are another 28 people who lie on injuries in the hospital.

The attack “strikes our country right in the heart,” said Austrian Chancellor Christian Stoker.

“These were young people who are ahead of their lives.”

Police said she had started surgery at 10:00 local time (9:00 BST) after the school was heard.

Police said the COBRA tactical specialist, which is engaged in attacks and hostage situations.

The authorities evacuated all students and teachers from the building. Police confirmed that the school was secured and there was no danger that did not represent the members of the public.

Local Mayor Elke Kahr called the incident a “terrible tragedy”.

European Commission Vice President Kaj Kalas said the news was “deeply shocked”. “Every child should feel safe at school and be able to study freely with fear and violence,” she posted on X.
