Teddy mellencamp she remembered her mindset following a disengaged man Edwin ArroyaveAffair a decade ago.
“I had to beg Edwin to want to stay with me. I had to beg him. I don’t think he was in love with me at that point,” Mellencamp remembered, 44, on the episode of Tuesday, August 5, of “The Jamie Kern Lima Show” podcast. “I think we’ve gone through periods in our marriage where we’ve been crazy in love with each other, but that wasn’t one of those times.”
Mellencamp shared that she was thinking of walking away from the wedding, but “then he improved,” which is why she stayed.
“People think, if this happens in marriage and even if it’s reversed – you know that people have said a lot of different things about me too – is that you do it because you don’t have care for other people in your life,” he added. “Sometimes you don’t have enough care for yourself.”

Mellencamp acknowledged that she also made “huge mistakes” in their relationship after Arroyave’s relationship, but said his infidelity was “broken”. (Mellencamp had its own relationship years later.)
“That was the first time in my life where I was like, ‘How will I display every day with a smile on my face and raise these children and be this perfect lady and start a TV show?'” He said.
Mellencamp discovered that Arroyave’s relationship with “someone she knew” just before her first season on Beverly Hills Real House Wives In 2017.
“My first season on housewives, that’s what I was going through,” added Mellencamp. “People say, ‘Oh you seem kind of quiet or you were kind of passive or but that’s not who you really are.’ I was like, well I didn’t fake who I was, I was coping.

Mellencamp filed for a divorce the same month, revealing that their separation date was in October 2024.
During the podcast episode on Wednesday, Mellencamp claimed that one person only told one person after discovering for Arroyave’s relationship. He claimed that the other woman “is coming on” because of “financial thing.”
“That was even more heartily because I was like, ‘you would be willing to do this for my family for money and not even much of it. Anwy,” added Mellencamp. That person called me and told me, and it was a couple days before filming my first term. “
