While the Spurs have been active in the preseason for several weeks, Bayern only returned to action on Saturday, after having recently participated in the Club World Cup.
Its summer break was prolonged because the first flight of Germany begins later and entered this game at the back of a 2-1 home victory over the French side Lyon.

Despite a 1-0 victory over Arsenal in Hong Kong, Spurs has only recorded one victory in its last four warm-up games.
The device also has some history, as the Bayern threw Spurs 7-2 in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the 2019 Champions League phase.
While Bayern also won the two meetings between the sides last summer, this Spurs team will be very different under the new leadership and without the Captain Heck-Min, who has left for Lafc.
The Bayern will be without Jamal Musiala, who suffered a serious injury during the loss of the Club World Cup in PSG.
Hiroki Ito and Alphonso Davies are also on the sidelines. The summer signature Luis Diaz, recently introduced from Liverpool, debuted in the victory over Lyon and is expected to reappear.
Michael Olise, another recent addition of the Premier League, was the outstanding performer, scoring the two goals after leaving the bench and is now expected to begin.
The Tottenham was able to give a debut to Joao Palhinha, who is on loan from the Bayern, and Mathys Tel could present his former side after making his transfer from Bayern to Permanent Spurs.
However, Spurs will be without key players James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski and Destiny Udogie.
Dominic Solanke was able to return after suffering.
