As the year 2025 unfolds, Team India is set for an action-packed cricket calendar, featuring a series of high-stakes matches and tournaments. The schedule includes the final test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophya bilateral series against England and the ICC Champions Trophy, before the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
Border-Gavaskar Trophy
The year begins with the final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia from January 3-7 at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). This match is crucial for India as it could significantly affect their chances of qualifying for the ICC World Test Championship final.
India vs England Series
After their tour of Australia, India will host England for a bilateral series that includes both T20Is and ODIs:
T20I Series:
- 1st T20I: January 22, Kolkata
- 2nd T20I: January 25, Chennai
- 3rd T20I: Jan 28, Rajkot
- 4th T20I: Jan 31, Pune
- 5th T20I: February 2, Mumbai
ODI Series:
- 1st ODI: February 6, Nagpur
- 2nd ODI: February 9, Cuttack
- 3rd ODI: February 12, Ahmedabad

India’s participation in the ICC Champions Trophy will take place in Dubai from February 20 to March 9. The group stage matches include:
- Against Bangladesh: February 20
- Against Pakistan: February 23
- Against New Zealand: March 2
IPL 2025
After the Champions Trophyplayers will shift their focus to the IPL, which is scheduled from March 14 to May 25. This tournament not only showcases domestic talent but also serves as a platform for international stars to shine.
In total, Team India will play one Test, 5 T20Is and 3 ODIs in bilateral series before Champions Trophy 2025 and a maximum of five ODIs (if they reach the final) in the ICC event.
