Teacher and Father arrested for stealing document at an examination attempt

South Korea arrested a high school teacher and a student’s father, who allegedly invaded the school late in the evening to steal the exam documents.

Their attempts took place at 1:20 local time on July 4 (18:20 GMT) at the school in Andon, southeast of Seoul, but was thwarted when the school’s security alarm went out.

The teacher is threatened with allegations for bribery and violations, while the father is accused of violation.

The head of institutions at a school, allegedly with a duo suit, was also arrested for permission to theft and illegal joining the school.

Authorities say the teacher privately taught the child of the arrested father – whose teachers who actively work in South Korea schools do not allow.

According to the KBS state television company, the student is “constantly supported by higher marks”, but it is unclear whether their academic record is connected with previous cases of the theft.

Police also suspect that the money has changed between the father and the teacher, and that this is not the first attempt to invade, KBS reports.

This incident is the latest in a series of scandals related to exams in South Korea, a country known for its hyper-compound education system.

In June, police announced that he was investigating the leak to the nationwide English exam through online chat.

In February 249 people were detained – dozens of school teachers – for selling layouts for Exam Suneung with high lobes to private academies.

And at the end of 2023, dozens of students sued the government after accidentally after the teachers cut their test 90 seconds.

South Korea is consistently part of industrially developed countries with the highest level of stress for young people between the ages of 11 and 15.
