Tanzania releases the activist after the Kenya government’s demand

The activist, detained in Tanzania for three days, was released shortly after the Kenya Ministry of Foreign Affairs demanded his release.

The highest official in the ministry, Carir Sing’oe, said on X that Bonifats Mvangi “returned to the country”.

The Kenyan activist was arrested in the gift -us -Salame on Monday, together with the Ugandan Otuhair, suspected military officers, and their location remained unknown.

They were in the country to participate in the judicial case of the opposition leader Tund Lis, who was accused of treason.

The Tanzania authorities did not commented on the detention and deportation of Mvangi.

But on Monday, President Suluha Hasan himself warned that it would not allow activists from neighboring countries to “intervene” in their country’s affairs and call “chaos”.

Earlier on Thursday, the Kenya Ministry of Foreign Affairs made a statement saying that she could not access the activist.

It states that, despite repeated requests, he was “denied in the consular” or information about him, and expressed concern about his health.

He called on Tanzania “promptly and without delay” to allow or release it “in accordance with international legal obligations and diplomatic norms.”

Later, the State Commission on Kenya’s rights said she had received an activist in Kvaki after being released from Tanzania.

The activist was reportedly left on the Kenyan border on Thursday morning after the release of Tanzania’s power.

On Wednesday, his wife told the BBC that she had last heard from him on Monday and could not set where he was.

“I am actually concerned about my life. I know how my husband would report, he would find a way to call me or write me, and because he is not, makes me worry very much,” she said in the BBC Newsday program.

On Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kenya expressed similar concerns about “the health of the activist, general well -being and lack of information about his detention”.

It states that diplomats should have access to their citizens detained by the master in accordance with the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations.

“In the light of the above (ministry), the united Republic of Tanzania calls on the government promptly and without delay facilitating consular access to or releasing the Mw,” the statement reads.

His statement appeared against the backdrop of increasing indignation, especially after the deportation of Tanzania, former Justice Minister Kenya Martha Carou and other activists who also went to the fox hearing last weekend.

In recent months, rights have been concerned about the obvious repressions against the Tanzania opposition ahead of the October elections.
