Real Madrid’s growing star, Gonzalo Garcia, described his experience in the Club World Cup as a “dream”, after continuing his impressive score and made early comparisons with the Raul Club icon.
The 21-year-old striker has scored four goals in five appearances in Madrid, including a key strike in his 3-2 quarter-final victory over Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
Gonzalo is currently sharing the first place in the gold boot race with Marcos Leonardo de Al Hilal and Angel di María de Benfica, all of whom have four goals in the tournament.
Madrid supporters have been eager for a homemade attacker to increase from the legendary appearance of Raul in the 1990’s.
The former Captain scored 323 goals in 741 games before being surpassed in the graphs of all the time of the Club de Cristiano Ronaldo and then Karim Benzema.
After marking with the staff of Castilla de Madrid, Gonzalo now wants to show that he is worthy of Raul’s comparisons, as he makes the jump under the manager Xabi Alonso.
He said, “They (fans) compare me with Raul, a legend. If I can do half of what he did with this shirt, he will be more than a dream.
“I have been working, waiting for an opportunity, but not in my dreams I would have thought of this.

“I do not feel much pressure. I have been working and waiting for that moment.
“The coach, the players, the staff give me a lot of confidence. Kylian (Mbappe) is … almost … let’s say the best player in the world. I feel so fortunate to share a pitch and train with him, to learn from him.”
Gonzalo’s performances have helped Madrid to reach the Final Four of the Club World Cup, but his journey has not been worried. In the victory over Dortmund, Madrid almost let his leadership searched after two late goals.
The goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois expressed the need to improve before his semifinals confrontation against the winners of the reigns, PSG, which will take place on Wednesday in New Jersey.
“We need to analyze our game and then work for the next game,” said Courtois. “PSG is a great rival, the current winners of the Champions League and had a great season.
“It will be a hard game, they like possession and pressure well, so we have to be ready.
“The team is doing well. We press well, we defend well, they attack well. Sometimes we need more possession to kill the game. This is what we have to do better.
“We are improving every game, learning more from the coach, putting what he wants in the game. It doesn’t always happen, but we’re getting better.”
