Taiwan’s coach apologies for being “pressed” to give blood

According to local media, the sports coach at the University of Taiwanese gave an official forgiveness on the research project that allegedly involved students who make the blood add.

The 61-year-old Chu Tai-Inh said her intention was to help her team, “because I had only a few players and they often suffered,” but it is unknown why they were taking blood.

The Taiwan politician, Chen Pay-Yu, in 2024 brought out a case in which he claimed that students were told that they would lose academic loans if they did not brought.

An internal investigation at the National Taiwanese University (NTNU) in Taipei later revealed that the blood choice began in 2019 and continued in 2024 for various “scientific projects”.

Coach Chu, who confessed, asking unskilled students to help recall blood, apologized on Saturday for “any pressure on school and students” through their “ill -advised words and behavior”, reports Taiwan Focus.

“It is definitely my fault that you feel like you did it,” she told the students through the statement.

Professor Chen Hsu-chi, leader of one of the uncertain research projects, also apologized.

He said the goal was to help the students with sportsmen, but acknowledged that it was unintentional.

An internal investigation showed that students gave blood once a day. The samples were thrown after the investigation found blood.

Initially, Chen Pay-Yui claimed that the research project requires players to give three blood samples a day for 14 consecutive days. She said the players had to participate in the project for several years.

The director of the Chen-chi nnu apologized on Saturday for calling the school. He said the ethics and procedures for supervision of the institution would be considered.

The Deputy Minister of Education Taiwan said the case would be considered by their department, as well as the actions of Chu and Chen.

Separately, the Ministry of Education stated that on Thursday, which could withdraw a license for the NTNU football coach without naming the person.
