Syria’s Operation Against Assad’s Loyalists ends after death violence

The Syrian Defense Ministry says it has completed a military operation in the Western coastal region of the country after the days of violence killed by hundreds of people.

Security forces “neutralized” the loyalists of the former President Bashar al-Assad in several cities of Latakia and Tartu provinces and “opened the way to life,” the ministry’s spokesman said.

The government has launched an operation in Latakia in response to a growing uprising by Assad Loyalists in recent weeks. The region is the heart of the Alavita sect, to which many political and military elites of the former regime belonged.

On Thursday, security officers were ambushed by the militants in the town of Job when they tried to arrest the search for Assad’s official regime. At least 13 officers were reportedly killed.
