In recent days from Syria, great reports appeared: the brutal killings of innocent civilians – Many minority and rubble communities are allegedly committed with the country Islamist modeHe is now headed by the temporary president Ahmed al-Sharaa, who was previously known for its Nom de Guerre, “Abu Mohammed Al-Golani”, long ago on the FBI’s most sought list from 2013 to 2024 for their role in the regional terrorist groups of Sunnites.
Take this on this Muslim: Peace depends on the complete defeat of the Islam death cult
As a Syrian American, my heart hurts for what has become my ancient homeland. Like a doctor, I can’t break away from human misery behind each headline. And as a man who has spent decades, warning of an increasing threat of Islamism, I sound anxiety: new tyranny is accustomed to Syria, drawn in religious language, but every slightly dangerous and destructive. The importance of exposing, understanding and confrontation with early beating in Syria against another tyranny after more than 55 years of the Baatist fighting fight cannot be overstated.

The world tragically grew to Syrian suffering. Ever since the Assad’s regime has started its terror campaign in 2011, against the long revolution of anti -government protests, the country has become synonymous with war, displacement and loss. More than half a million people were killed. More than 13 million were moved. The cities, like my hometown, are the preditting city of Aleppo, were reduced to rubble. And yet, from the ashes of the Bashar al-Assad family, there is a new authoritarianism, this time is due not to secular fascism, but by the religious supreme.
The reports we are now receiving on the violence of sectaries aimed at Syria’s religious minorities, in particular Christians and rubble. These are communities that existed in Syria for centuries, long before the rise of Islam, and the persecution waves. Now they are re -targeting, this time the groups that sympathize with the new regime, whose leaders adhere to the Islamist interpretation of Sunni Islam, and who consider the theological difference not as a reality of pluralism, but as a crime worthy of death.
It’s not Islam. This is Islamism.
Islamism is a doctrinal interpretation that contributes to the cruel, theocratic vision of Islam as a political system. It seeks to implement Sharia or Islamic law, not just as a personal or spiritual guide, but as a governing body for each aspect of state and privacy. Islamists see the rights of citizens who come not from God, but from their theocratic version of Islam. Islamists believe that their political power is God, and disagreed heretic and treacherous. This is not faith. It is fascism, wrapped in the language of God.

For many years, Islamists falsely represented the antidote before Tyranny Assad. They told the world that they were fighting for freedom, justice and democracy. But let’s be clear: Islamists who are now in power are no different from Assad. Their language and methods may vary, but their goals are the same: absolute control, achieved through fear, violence and repression.
Where the siege used torture cameras and chemical weapons, Islamists use a iconic religious identity as both the sword and the shield. Where the siege sowed the sectarianism to then crush disagreement in the name of national unity, Islamists are now doing the same in the name of their version of “divine truth”.
And the result is the same: bodies on the streets, families are torn and suffocated by any future for freedom.
At the heart of this struggle is the principle that we, in America, are dear, but it is increasingly threatened around the world: religious freedom. Among many, this is not just one thing. This is the basis of all others. As I said many times: religious freedom is the tip of the spear of all freedoms. This is “first freedom”. When it flourishes, society flourishes. When it is crushed, all other freedoms fall.
This is not an abstract philosophy. This is the living reality of millions. If people are denied the freedom of worship and believe – or do not believe – according to their conscience, it is only a matter of time before they also refuse to speak, collect, vote, live without fear. Syria is a tragic study that happens when religious freedom is replaced by ideological authoritarianism, be it secular or theocratic.
In Coalition of clarityWe strive to cover the threats that both political Islam and authoritarian regimes represent. We are a network of Muslims, ex-Muslims and allies from all over the ideological spectrum, which believe that freedom is not just Western value. It’s a man. We believe in the dignity of each person, the equality of all before the law and the essential truth that no government has the right to tell you what to believe.
We urge the international community not only to condemn the latest atrocities in Syria, but also to act. This means the requirement of the investigation for the purposes now reported. This means attracting a government in Damascus the accountable and demanding transparency in how they are charged by the government protects every minority and every citizen.
This means the content of recognition and support of any regime that commits or allows such crimes. This means recognizing Islamism as a dangerous political ideology that it is, not a legal expression of religious faith, but by extremist perversion.

In 2013, the Obama administration allowed, expanded the powers and noted the “democratically” chosen Islamist regime of the Muslim brotherhood in Egypt, setting the basis for the return of the next military regime to the current leader Abdel Fatah al-Sisi. The deep religious diversity of Syria can cause these duel fascisms and games.
But this means standing with the Syrian people: Christians, rubble, Sunni, neck, Alawites, Kurds, atheists, all those who crave Syria, where they can live in the world, worship, gather and speak the mind without fear.
President Donald Trump should immediately call for full responsibility and transparency from Damascus in handling Sharaa’s government to minorities and his direct responsibility for freedom of religious minorities under his power.

The Syrian people deserves better than the choice between Assad and Al-Golani. They deserve the future, implemented not in sectarianism and violence, but in freedom and dignity.
The world ignored Syria once before, and the price was horrible. We can’t afford to ignore it again.
