“I loved it,” he told In a magazine In June of The transformation of her body. “I came aboard the ship to play Christy, and I got about three and a half months of training. I started to eat. I trained weight in the morning for an hour, kicked a midday box for about two hours, and then trained weight again at night for an hour.”
Sweeney continued, “My body was completely different. I didn’t fit in any of my clothes. I usually size 23 in jeans, and I was wearing size 27. My boobs became bigger. And my hut went huge. It was crazy! I was like, O my God.

When it was first announced that Sweeney was cast as Martin, 57, in May 2024, the retired athlete showed her support for the actress. Martin told Tmz She looked forward to seeing Sweeney’s picture and also hoped that the film would accurately portray the progress and decline of her life.
“I want this film to bring awareness to domestic violence, the challenge of sexuality and a general undergoing story,” he told the outlet at the time. “I am a small town coal girl in southwest Virginia which had an impact in an unprecedented feat – women’s boxing.”
