Sydney Sweeney no longer harmed on her controversial American Eagle ad campaign.
“I’m there to support my film and the people involved, and I’m not there to talk about jeans,” said Sweeney, 27, Vanity fair In a profile Thursday, September 4, before the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of Christy. “The film is about Christy, and that’s what I’ll be there to talk about.”
Sweeney stars as the title Christy Martin in the upcoming biopic for the 90s boxer.
Before releasing the film, Sweeney was named in the face of the American Eagle denim collection. A campaign in August included the Double Tagline Entender, “Sydney Sweeney has great genes,” many fans believed they were promoting eugenics. (Eugenics is a wide -ranging theory for improving human genetics.)

The brand has also defended the campaign.

Without further discussion, Sweeney continues to focus on sharing Martin’s story.
