Aaron Ramsdale said that working with Eddie Howe was a “great tie” and accredited Newcastle’s manager with “making me a man in a professional footballer” after joining the Magpies in a Southampton season.

“I always loved playing here in St James’ Park,” Ramsdale said on Newcastle’s website. “I have not always had the most important results, but when fans stand behind, it is a place.
“Working with the manager and his technician again was a great draw for me. They have already had a great influence on my career and the gaffer made me a man a professional footballer in Bournemouth.
“He really showed me the ropes, so the manager and his coach were a huge point of sale.”
