Sunil Narine, Anrich North trapped BCCI in the wide day light !! Do you prohibit entering?

The bats of Sunil Narine and Anrich Nortje were rejected by the fields during the IPL 2025 game between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Punjab Kings (PBKs).

The two KKR players were forced to use alternative teams after their bats did not pass the necessary inspection in Mullanpur on Tuesday, April 15.

To avoid discrepancies, the fields and the fourth wide have been in charge of inspecting the bats during both the practice and parties sessions.

Bats inspections were previously carried out outside the game, but these controls have increased since the beginning of the ongoing T20 tournament.

In a viral clip on social media, bats of Sunil Narine and Angkrish Raghuvanshi were reviewed by officials just before the second post.

The Raghuvanshi bat passed the test, but Sunil Narine failed when the caliber did not go completely. Sunil Narine was fired cheap for five runs by Marco Jansen in the first place.

Anrich Nortje came in to beat at number 11 with KKR fighting 95-9. The game was delayed when Rahmanullah Gurbaz pulled out the replacement bats for Nortje.

The game resumed once the replacement bat beat the check, but Nortje did not have the opportunity to use it, as Andre Russell was dismissed from the first ball.

What IPL rules say about bats inspections

The recent BAT inspection controls are expected to continue, especially after two breaches will be found in one entry.

The new initiative has surprised some players, but has received praise from bowls and experts.

“According to the rules, the width of the bat face should not exceed 10.79cm, the thickness of the leaf should not be more than 6.7 cm, and the width of the bat edge cannot be greater than 4cm. The length of the BAT should not exceed 96.4cm,” says the IPL guidelines (through Espn Cricinfo).

“It’s fair enough, we have nothing, in this, it is not controllable. Bats are manufactured by the company that sponsors us. But if the areas want to check it -because of their satisfaction, we have no problem,” said RR Batter Nitish Rana before the IPL 2025 game against DC.
