Subriel Matias and Gabriel Gollaz Valenzuela weighed on Friday’s heavy on their heavyweight IBF titles this Saturday, March 1st in Donations by Coliseo Tomas, in Fajardo, Puerto Rico. The event will be displayed Live in Dazn.
It is an essential struggle for the old ibf champion of 140 pounds Matias (21-2, 21 kos) if he wants to have the opportunity to recover the belt he lost last year in a terrible performance against Liam Paro on June 15 in Manati, Puerto Rico. Matias could not use his normal fight style to reach paro because his movement and moving away.
Valenzuela (30-3-1, 17 kos) will surely follow the model of paro moving and passing Matias every time it approaches. However, it has no other options, because it is not a punch enough to defeat Matias in a fire. In comparison, it has power, but not at the Subriel level.
Official weights
Gabriel Gollaz Valenzuela 139.8 vs. Subriel Matías 139.8
Alfredo Santiago 139.75 vs. Javier Fortune 144
It is difficult to know how good Valenzuela, 30, is because he has never been beaten to anyone during his nine -year professional in Mexico. Lost with William Zepeda before his career, and he was also hit by Montana love. Valenzuela has won its last five fights since then, though against the lower level opposition.
The defeat against love took place three years ago in 2022. Being hit by that boy shows that the level is operating Valenzuela. Talent, is more than a contestant Frange instead of a fighter who deserves his #4 ranking with IBF. That is why it is important for Matias to win this struggle and it seems good to do it.
If Matias wins, he will have to be very good to defeat the IBF Richardson Hitchins champion because he will have a great speed lead over him. Hitchins can do everything that stopped, but much cleaner. The slowest Matias will have adjustments against the Hitchins if you can overcome it to land your shots.
Matias is a struggle far from challenging for another 140-pound title: only Gollaz Valenzuela is on his way 🏆 #MatiasValenzuela ; SAT | 19 Hi | @Daznboxing pic.twitter.com/qqgwiradez
