It has often been said that the amount of money spent and earned through the IPL is a crazy number in terms of T20 tournaments at the franchise level. Bringing home an IPL sweater on your favorite side seems to be a wish for all the fanatics of the cricket.
However, in a recently reported robbery, the BCCI office security guard at Wankhede Stadium seemed to have taken the desire to another level, as he has stolen a complete cardboard of T -shirts in the BCCI office warehouse.

According to The Times of India reports, the alleged security guard, 40 years old, has taken the full cardboard of the t -shirts, which was supposed to contain a total of 261 t -shirts, which have stated that it was worth 6.52 lakes by the BCCI.
The incident took place at the Wankhede Stadium BCCI in Churchgate, where he took a cardboard full of t -shirts that cost about 2500 each.
While the robbery was probably held on June 13, it arrived at the BCCI notification during a recent audit report, which found some discrepancies in the actions. CCTV pictures found the alleged security guard carried by a cardboard full of t -shirts. BCCI officials filed a police complaint to the Marine Drive police station on July 17.
The officials reported: “The Guard claims that he snatched a bit with the online distributor, but he has not yet specified how much he reached for the agreement.”

The alleged security guard, called Farooque Aslam Khan, sold the box full of online t -shirts to a Haryana distributor whom he had met on social networks. As it has been sold to sell actions to finance your online game addiction.

Only 50 of these 261 T -shirts have recovered, while the guard claims that he has lost all the money in online games, as the Toi source reveals. Police would check their bank account to verify details.

The IPL has proven to be a real golden goose for the BCCI, contributing to almost 60% of its income, and played a crucial role in the record increase in BCCI income in 2024.
