Napoli won a 2-1 crucial victory over AC Milan at Diego Armando Maradona stadium to move three points from the A. A.
Goals from the first half of Matteo Politano and Romelu Lukaku proved to be enough for Antonio Conte, despite the late strike of Luka Jovic giving the hope of Rossoneri.
Conte could not have asked for a better start, with his team finding the net two minutes from the game. Giovanni di Lorenzo advanced from his right position and gave a pass to Politano, who timed his career perfectly before the end of Mike Maignan.
Milan, struggling to respond, was further back in the 19th minute. Billy Gilmour showed his vision with a magnificent defense pass to Lukaku, who showed a great composition to raise the ball on Maignan and Napoli’s double advantage.
The visitors made changes to the half, with Rafael Leao in an attempt to cause his attack. The movement paid dividends when Milan began to create possibilities.
His best chance came in the 69th minute when Leao combined with Theo Hernandez, with a free kick in the penalty area of Philip Billing. Santiago Gimenez got up to take the spotlight, but Alex Meret produced an impressive savings to keep Napoli’s two goals intact.

Milan refused to go back and finally found a breakthrough in the 84th minute. Hernandez, influential on the left flank, handed a low cross to the six -gardens box, where Jovic reacted faster to lead the ball on the net.
When the party entered the stoppage, Milan continued to threaten. Leao was very involved, causing a lack of Di Lorenzo in a dangerous position, but the resulting free lack was well defended.
Chukwueze had a late shot blocked and, despite surpassing his opponents in the expected goals (2.69 to 0.96), Milan did not find the second crucial goal.
The victory guarantees that Napoli remain in the second place in the A, Milan series, in the meantime, staying in the ninth and will have to focus quickly on his Coppa Italia semifinals confrontation against Inter on Wednesday before a league meeting with Fiorentina on Saturday.
