Djed Spence has opened as the former Tottenham head, Antonio Conte, “destroyed” his confidence and says he had only a “conversation” with the Italian while in office.
Spence, on the right, joined Spurs in an agreement of 20 million pounds of Middlesbrough in 2022, but then Manager Conte played hard, insisting that the former prestige of Nottingham Forest was an “investment for the club” instead of his own signing.
The 24 -year -old has spent a time on loan to Rennes, Leeds and Genoa since they reached northern London, but has become the side of Ange Postecoglou this season, with the two complete positions.
Speaking of his time under story, Spence told the Rio Ferdinand presents Podcast: “It was not a pleasant feeling. Especially when I came to the club at a high level, I was confident, I had a great season and I had just won the promotion.
“Then it was like encountering a brick wall. I was a little bit of confidence. I’m young, it’s not good to hear really.
“I knew it was a junk at that time. It wasn’t a nice feeling. I even went into the club like (shots and shoulders shoulders) and” What do I do? “”
He added, “I feel like what I did, that man (story) was not happy with anything.
“Even if you did the right things, you liked,” I did the right thing? “Because it really is not a scoring guy.
“I probably had a conversation with him.”

Spence also discussed the turning point of his Spurs career this season, which he has seen a significant part of Spurs side.
“I think I’ve been the victim of being too humble,” he said. “To think that things will only happen to do nothing and say nothing. But sometimes you have to express.
“In the first year in Tottenham, I feel that I gave a little respect for the players and in the surrounding area because it is Tottenham. I came from Forest, I go to the Premier League, a sixth club and I thought that” Phew, this is big. “
“I feel like giving them too much respect for me, it was not me, it was a bit too humble with everything.
“When I went there, I saw players who were big names like Harry Kane and Sonny (Heck -min Son), and I’m thinking,” I don’t want to step on my toes. “
“But probably this was my biggest mistake, to make it and not express -me as it should have.”
Asked when this attitude changed, Spence replied, “I would probably say this season, at the beginning of the year.
“I think it only happens naturally. I do not have time to waste now. I have to go for -it is the time, so it only clicks.”
