The American pastor, who was abducted by armed men during a church service in South Africa last week, was rescued after a “high intensity” that left three dead, the authorities say.
Josh Sullivan was found untouched in a town in GcEber on the eastern Cape on Tuesday-evening, where the 45-year-old was torn from last Thursday.
There were no immediate details about the abdura suspected of familiar with the movements of the family.
Over the last decade, southern Africa has increased 264%, police statistics have been increased.
In a statement published on Wednesday morning, an elite police unit of South Africa, known as “Hox”, said that Sullivan was saved after “a proven intelligence in which the team was agreed … quickly moved to the detected place.”
Hox -secretary -secretary Abel Fumb said that when the officers were approaching the house, the suspects tried to escape into the vehicle, opening the fire.
“The officers responded with tactical accuracy that it led to a high-intensity shootout, in which three unidentified suspects were deadly,” Mr. Fumb said.
The family and friends of Mr. Sulivana expressed requests for his safe profitability since his abduction.
Jeremy Hall, a press -secretary of the Sullivan family, told the local newspaper Timeslive that he was in the church with his wife and their children when he was abducted.
“They knew his name,” he said at the time.
While the initial reports said it was not made for redemption, its abductor later expressed demand, which caused Hox interference.
The unit, a branch of the South African police, is focused on investigating organized, economic and other serious crimes.
On his personal site, Mr. Sullivan characterizes himself a “missionary for the land of the church”.
On it he says he moved to South Africa with his wife and children in 2018 to create a church for people talking in Xhosa.
