Stevenson’s heavy tactics: punking padley before their crash

Shakur Stevenson acted more aggressively than usual, a like it was trying to puncture his opponent Josh Padley on heavy, putting himself on his face, pointing to his fingers and launched him ahead of his light struggle for 12 rounds. Live in Dazn PPV on Saturday.

The strange part is that Padley (15-0, 4 kos) can probably punch as hard as Shakur, and has only four eliminations on his record. If you fight against him, he may be upset. I doubt that the judges will give it to Padley, but I would tell Shakur as Edwin de los Santos did.

Hard -type performance

Stevenson (22-0, 10 kos) acted as if he had a chip on his shoulder, trying to take to intimidate Fringe Padley (15-0, 4 kos), which his promoter, Eddie Hearn, personally recommended to Turki Alralikh as a sub after Floyd Schofield went down with a disease and was removed from the fight.

This behavior would work better with the fans if Shakur fought well with the possibility of hitting him, like Andy Cruz, Abdullah Mason or Raymond Muratalla. But doing it against a domestic fighter as a last-minute replacement is low.

It is quite clear that Shakur is unsafe after participating in consecutive performances against Artem Harutyunyan and Edwin de los Santos. What Stevenson’s fans had left the boat after seeing that it was not what they originally thought.

This is not the opponent Shakur needs to win the fans again and to create new ones. Stevenson should have vetoed Padley’s option and insisted on a better opponent, such as Herrera Cores or someone else. At least if he had fought this kind, fans would give him credit if he won, but he could. This is probably why the 22-year-old Cuban Herrera 22 (16-0, 14 kos), because it is too good and can win.

Shakur weighed at 134.1 pounds and Padley at 134 today in heavy.

“It’s what dreams are. This is what you get to box. A world title, the pinnacle of sport. I will take it with both hands, “Josh Padley said Dazn box During today’s weight, talking about the opportunity given to fight the Light WBC champion, Shakur Stevenson, as a replacement opponent on Saturday night. “Tune to Saturday night to see -“

“I told her I will beat her ***. There is a lot of energy. She has a lot of energy. We put ourselves in the ring,” Shakur said. “I kept focused, I was locked up. The opponent’s change does nothing for me but I will shine. I will shine tomorrow and tomorrow is my time.

“To the amateurs, you fight everyone and everyone. This is nothing new to me. I’ve been here before. It is time for demonstration. Let’s do it. I promise to remind them. Tomorrow is my time. I am having fun and I am putting a belt on a **, “said Stevenson.
