Smith missed a historic milestone in the SCG Test
The Aussie batsman might have faced the quick fire off the field, but on the field he couldn’t cope with a short-pitched quick delivery and missed out on the 10,000-run milestone in his Test career by one run. Smith came to the crease in the second innings after that Marnus Labuschagne he was dismissed by the Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna. Smith made 9,995 runs and needed 5 more runs to reach the historic milestone. Just then, a short ball from Krishna took an extra bounce and took an edge off the shoulder of Smith’s bat, who was not expecting the extra bounce. Yashasvi Jaiswal he lunged for the ball and successfully dispossessed Smith. The experienced Australian batsman had 9,999 runs at this point and will now have to wait until the Sri Lanka tour to complete its 10,000 tests.
