Starbucks told her corporate employee that they should work in the office four days a week, or pay and quit.
The workers are expected to be in the office on Monday and Thursday, starting in October, compared to the previous requirement that employees come for three days.
The directive is the latest in the series from companies that encourage the remote work that has expanded during COVID Pandemic.
Starbucks workers who have decided not to pursue a new US and Canada policy will be offered a single payment if they decided to leave.
Brian Nical, CEO of Starbucks, who joined the business less than a year ago, said the changes will help the company do its “best job” as it faces a fall in sales and other problems.
“We understand that not everyone will agree with this approach,” He wrote on the company’s blog.
“We listened and thought carefully. But as a company built on human communication, and given the scale of turning forward, we believe it is the right way for Starbucks,” he said.
As part of the move, the company will require certain executives in Seattle, where it is with the Starbucks or Toronto headquarters.
Nicolas did not demand the resettlement to Seattle, determining that the firm will create a small remote office near its hometown in California.
He has since bought a house in Seattle.
The new policy is part of a number of changes that Mr. Nical made to turn Starbucks.
These include refurbishing the menu and cafes, as well as the Rules for the cancellation of their cafes in North America, which allowed people to use their facilities, even if they bought nothing.
Previously, people were allowed to stay at Starbucks outlets and use their toilets without shopping.
Earlier this year, The firm has reduced 1100 jobs.
Other companies also strengthen their distance work, including Amazon and JP Morgan.
Researchers polls in Stanford, Instituto Tecnogolico Umento de Mexico and Chicago University believe that total work practice has been quite stable in recent years.
Their study found that in the US, about a third of employees who can play their roles were recalled to the full-time office, and approximately fifth-hills are remotely. About 45% enjoy hybrid policy.
