In a recent interview with DiscloseThe Star “Correction of the Upper” opened on why to stay rooted in her native state is key to preserving her grounding. For Gaines, this foundation begins in the kitchen.

“My children are now in the season of life, where they are closer to their departure than they remain,” she said, noting that her four older – 20, 18, 17 and 15.

Her older, Drake, lives for about an hour in college and loves to cook with her girlfriend.
“They have these nights where they go out, and they prepare three-, four- or five dishes,” she explained. “I mean, he still gets whataburger, but I think the fact he feeds himself – he makes the grilled chicken, he makes steaks – it is set for life.”
For Gaines, cooking has turned into a form of meditation against the background of tense family life.
“I go home every day from work at 5:30. That’s when the children usually return home after sports and everything,” she shared. “And now it has become a thing when, when I do not work in the kitchen, I don’t get this downtime.”

Behind her popular lifestyle is a woman who built her home – literally and emotionally – around food and family.
Gaines roots are firmly planted in the eye, where her family settled when she was 12 years old, living in Austin and Seoul, Korea.

In 2020, Gaines confessed that she was skeptical of her current Waco peasant house, first calling it a terrible investment.
“We recently finished repairing a home that was supposed to become an overstretch, but what I loved that it really is – finally – I felt at home for our family when the chip once announced a new perspective,” she reminded in the magazine Magnolia via Journal Folk.
“Our client will soon sell his peasant house near the city,” but Joana found it a “far shot”. And as soon as they saw the place, “it was” not “for me from the beginning.” Until she witnessed her five children who use the property.

For the first time, the couple received glory more than 10 years ago, when in 2013 they were thrown into the HGTV “Fixer Upper” series, which showed that the couple carried the dilapidated houses through her business Magnolia Homes in Vac, Texas.
After five seasons, they decided to leave the show, and then signed up with Discovery+, launching the Magnolia network in 2022.

Along with the net, the pair also has a 5-kraki market Magnolia in the Silver, which includes shops in silage, bakery for baking Sillos Co. And the Magnolia Press cafe. They also have a Magnolia Table restaurant in several miles.

They also possess Magnolia Journal and have written a number of books about lifestyles, including “John’s home body” and “No Pain”, “Without Pain”. They have their own Magnolia House, furniture and accessories and a home line created by John, called Hearth and Hand for Target.
The chip and Joanna also opened a boutique -gathel, 1928, in 2023, after repairing a historic hotel with 33 rooms. The couple also offers a lease at Waco, including Hillcrest Estate and Hillcrest Cottage, an original house for the manor.
