In the 12th over of the Melbourne Renegades’ chase in Melbourne, Brisbane Heat bowler Spencer Johnson baffled two batsmen with magical deliveries. Johnson removed Oliver Peake for 19 runs and Tim Seifert for a golden duck in an absolute beauty at Melbourne’s Docklands Stadium.
In the second delivery of the 12th, Spencer Johnson, already pumped after removing Peake, bowled full and straight to the stumps, and Oliver Peake tried to go back and take a big shot but missed completely. But it was the dismissal of New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman Tim Seifert that left everyone in awe of Johnson. On the third ball of the same over, Spencer Johnson bowled a perfect yorker aimed at the base of the stumps, and that was too good for the new batsman, Seifert. With those quick wickets, Johnson brought Brisbane Heat back into the game, but Jake Fraser-McGurk’s remarkable knock of 95 runs was enough to get Melbourne Renegades over the line with 12 balls to spare and three wickets in hand in the Big Bash League. 2024-25 match in Melbourne.
