Abdullah Mason vs. Floyd Scofield Sparring Video has been filtered today on YouTube, showing that “Kid Austin” was dominated by the rank promoted. Most of the video shows the light contestant of SouthPaw, Mason, who struck Schofield around the ring, hitting it with large shots on the head and body.
Schofield lost a lot, kept and was out of balance after throwing shots. He was uncomfortable and sometimes anguish with the pressure of the highest mason of 5’9. “Towards the end of the Spar, Schofield landed some great shots of the right hand on the head and body of Abdullah.
The filtered sparring clip refutes what Floyd Schofield Schofield said About his son who must be easy in Mason. What we see from the edited video is that Mason dominated the entire clip of 3.27 minutes. What we do not know is the one who edited the clip and what was eliminated.
It is very possible that anyone who made the edition had an agenda to make Abdullah look good. Thus, the parts where they were well looked intact, while the areas where Schofield dominated were edited. With a video edited, you just don’t know.
Sparring Clip Age & Context
We do not know how long the Sparring took place. Schofield seemed much greater in his last fight against Tevin Farmer on June 28 than in the video. In this struggle it appeared 15 to 20 pounds heaviest of what he did in Sparring.
This suggests that this clip is at least 1-2 years old. It may not look much like a bigger fighter, but it makes a significant difference to someone of their early 1920’s.
In addition to the age and selective editing of the video, the size of the glove and the head bring out any sense to evaluate that he won a fight between them. The two fighters look like 16 ounce gloves, and they get very out of the impact of the shots.
