Spanish prime minister

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez urged Israel to exclude international sports competitions for his actions.

“Israel cannot continue to use any international platform to whiten its image,” he said to his chosen representatives of his socialist workers.

He said that Israel should be considered the same as Russia because of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

On Sunday, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar called the Spanish Prime Minister “shame” and accused him of the Palestinian protests in Madrid, which caused the cancellation of the final stage of Vuelta’s cycling race, in which the Israeli team competed.

Earlier on that day, Sanchez stated that preliminary protests showed that Spain was “shining as an example of pride” on Gaza.

According to official reports, several Spanish ministers of the government also praised a protest rally of about 100,000 people.

“It is a relief that thousands and thousands of people are mobilized against this genocide because it is a genocide and has no other name,” said óscar López, Minister of Digital Transformation.

Israel regularly denied that his actions in Gaza are a genocide and says they are justified as a means of self -defense.

Culture Minister Ernest Urtasun also said Israel should not participate in the next Eurovision Song Contest, Repeating the calls made by Sanchez earlier this year.

“We must make sure that Israel is not involved in the next Eurovision,” said Urtasun.

Public broadcasters of Ireland and the Netherlands have already stated that they would not participate if Israel will be included in the competition with “horrible” and “serious” loss of life and suffering in gas.

The relationship between Israel and Spain has been fragile since the end of 2023, when Sanchez expressed concern about the death of civilian population in gas and some members of his government at the time called for diplomatic relations.

In 2024, Spain joined Norway and Ireland, recognizing the Palestinian state, and last week, Sanchez accused Israel of genocide and announced a number of measures against him, including an embargo on weapons.

Saar’s Israeli replied, accusing the Sanchez administration of the anti -Semit and the use of “wild and hated rhetoric”.

The latest poll of the Elcano Royal Institute’s analytical center showed that at least 82% of the Spaniards believe that Genocide is being carried out.

Two days after Sanchez’s announcement, the President of the European Commission Ursul von der Leyen called for stopping free trade and bilateral support with Israel when she talked about the “organized famine” in Gaza.

Von der Leyen also lamented that she called the “painful” inability of Europe to find a proper response to Israel’s actions.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly denied fasting and stated that there is a Hamas and Hamas’s fault.

Israel has accused international assistance agencies such as the UN, that it does not collect help while waiting at the border of gas, pointing to hundreds of trucks sitting on a single mode.

In August, food monitor, IPC, confirmed that hunger took place in the gas districts. Israel is accused of calling hunger through constant restrictions on food and medical care.

Israel controls all border crossings into the gas lane, and since the occupation power is responsible for the protection of civil life by international law, which includes hunger.

On October 7, 2023, Israel began his war in Gaza in response to the attack under the direction of Hamas on Southern Israel, killing about 1,200 people, and another 251 took hold.

At least 64,871 people have been killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza since then, according to the Ministry of Health in the territory.
