The women’s national team of Spain has separated in ways with the main coach Montse Tome, designating Sonia Bermudez as successor.
Tome’s contract will not be renewed when it expires on August 31, the Spanish Football Federation confirmed.
The 43 -year -old girl became the first female coach in Spain in September 2023 after she had served as an assistant to Jorge Vilda.
Vilda was dismissed in the wake of the scandal of Luis Rubiales and Tome guided Spain to the victory at the inauguration of the League of Nations of the Nations of the Nations of February of 2024.
He also led the team in the final of the Euro 2025, where they were beaten by England by penalties.
In a statement, the RFEF thanked Tome for their “work, professionalism and dedication” before their departure at the end of the month.
Bermudez, 40, won nine league titles during his career with Rayo Vallecano, Barcelona, Atlético de Madrid and Levante, and made 61 appearances in Spain.
She had been training children under 23 before her promotion and previously captured the Senior side, representing her country in the 2015 World Cup where the Red finished her group’s background.
