Spain with the “extraordinary risk” of new fires when 14 spread

Spain is being “extraordinary risk” of new fires, the country’s pre -minister warned when the firefighters continue to fight 14 major ples.

A report on X, Pedro Sanchez said he expected the conditions to be “very tough” on Friday when he posted a schedule from the National Weather Agency Agency, which warns of extreme fire risk in the north and west of the country.

The temperature on the northern coast of the Spanish northern coast is expected to reach 40C after more than 1500 square km (579 square miles) were devastated and seven people were killed.

This week, southeastern Europe was burned in the heat wave, causing forest fires in Spain, Portugal, Greece, France and the Balkans.

In Galicia, several fires united, forming a huge flame, forcing the closure of highways and railway services to the region.

Avincis, the largest emergency airport operator in Europe, said he registered 50% compared to last year during the flight of fire service in Spain and Portugal this season, Reuters reports.

AEMET predicts that the thermal wave will continue until Monday, at up to 44C in some areas, as well as moderate winds.

In summer, fires are commonplace across Southern Europe, but their burden can often worsen thermal conditions.

Meteorologists say that such extremes are becoming more frequent and intense due to climate change caused by man.

EU data show that about 6,290 square km (2429 square miles) burned down the block since the beginning of the year, and the forest fires in Spain are about a quarter of the total.

Spain’s Civil Guard said she arrested two men on suspicion of fire in Castile and Leon – taking the number of arson arrests to 10 from the beginning of June.

While the weather conditions are currently favorable for forest fires, they can be caused by barbecues, cigarette plugs or bottle. Causing forest fire is a criminal offense in Spain, even if by accident.

Spain is a fifth European nation that requires help in the fight against forest fires. In Greece, 100 square km (38 sq.m) was burned.

On Friday, firefighters were still engaged in an active front on the Greek island of Chisos, three days after the flames began, and the repair teams warned that it might take more than a week to restore damaged infrastructure. Most of the island still remains without electricity, in some areas it is reported about some water supply problems.

On Friday, a very high risk for fires for Attica, Peloponnez, Central Greece, Thessalia, Central and Eastern Macedonia and Trakia, as well as in the north and South Aegean, the Greek civil defense agency reports.

Greece, Bulgaria, Montenegro and Albania also activated the mechanism of the EU civil defense, which allows any country to suffer from disaster – both in Europe and abroad – to seek help.
