Spain dominates possession but Germany still lives in the semifinal

England is closer to finding out who will be in the final Sunday after a first half without stopping between Germany and Spain in the women’s euro semifinal.

Spain, perhaps predictably, dominated possession statistics, but Germany, runner -up three years ago, had several opportunities to break the deadline to Zurich.

The world champions approached when the defender Irene Paredes struck the post with a header, but the Germans twice could have opened the score through Klara Buhl and Giovanna Hoffmann.

Ann-Katrin Berger, the two-time cancer survivor among the German poles, who was the hero on Christian Wuck against France in the last eight, was inspired again.

The 34 -year -old girl brilliantly saved the timely range of Esther Gonzalaz’s half volleyball before keeping Bonmati, Gonzalez again, and finally Claudia Pina at the stoppage of the first half, as the score remained at the level.
