Former England Sir Gareth Southgate says he does not actively seek return to the mouth and admitted that he was surprised to see -being linked to Poland’s work earlier this summer.
It has been 13 months since Southgate left the defeat of the 2024 euro of England in Spain in Berlin, ending with an eight -year -old spell that presented in the consecutive finals of the European Championship and two deeper World Cup races.
Since the role he left, the 54 -year -old has taken time out of football, balancing business companies with work in the development of leadership and coaching development, while writing a book.
“I’m enjoying my life,” Southgate told PA. “I have strength: business interests, work with young coaches, writing and time to travel, play golf and paddle tennis. I’m really enjoying this balance.”
Asked about the perspective of returning to management, he replied, “You can never say never, because 15 years ago I left Middlesbrough and I wasn’t sure I would manage again.
“Then I ended up on a strange way to the national team. But at this time I’m not actively looking at.”
Southgate admitted that he was rejected by recent rumors that he suggested that he was in Marc to take over Poland.
“He was related to Poland, which he knew nothing about, so he was strange,” he said.
“Something is written and then reports everywhere. I only accept it now for what it is.”
Southgate spoke at Manchester’s PFA Awards, where he received the Merit Award in recognition of his contributions to football and successes with England. The current manager of England, Thomas Tuchel, also attended.
Reflecting on the squad he left behind, Southgate said: “Obviously they have many good players and there are always young exciting players. But it is important for me not too much, because I do not want to step on Thomas’ feet fingers.”
