Koninging clarified his comments by talking to journalists on Thursday and defended the “blue collar” related to Cleveland and Detroit.
“First of all, I know the story of WNBA. I know that both cities had teams before, and they delivered us where we are, so I am grateful for it,” she said. “Everything I really got was the Broadway, outside the judicial lifestyle, and so I think it really intrigues. I think Miami intrigues. That’s all I got.”
“I think it would be fun to get to some teams outside the NBA market … I think people completely read the situation. I never talked on the middle class, the blue collar workers. That’s where I come from. I’m from Missour.

Cunning also appealed to his comments.
“The people who bring you out will be the same people who push you. And so for me I just stay here in the middle. I think it was my personal opinion,” she said.
