In a rare and fun time, the game was briefly stopped during the 43rd game of the Regional Championship of the Division 2025 between Somerset and Nottinghamshire on the field of Cooper Associates in Taunte on Sunday, June 29.
This interruption did not occur due to the climate or injury, but the cause of a massive flock of gulls to the field of Cooper Associattes, in Taunte. The unusual incident took place during the 59th at Somerset’s entries against Nottinghamshire on Sunday.
A large group of gulls went into the field, forcing the fields to stop the regional championship game between Somerset and Nottinghamshire temporarily for the safety of players and to erase unexpected intruders.

The players of the parts of Somerset and Nottinghamshire looked at the fun while the birds took care of the field, and the land staff intervened to move them out gently.
Although the game resumed after a few moments in Taunton, the picturesque interruption quickly made headlines and entertained the fans on the stands. The clip of the moment of the regional championship party was shared by Somerset in the X Official (before Twitter) Sunday.

Last time, this incident occurred during the Big Bash League (BBL) earlier this year, but it was a misfortune. Similar scenes had been deployed during the BBL clash between the Sydney Sixers and Melbourne’s protagonists on the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in January 2025.
