The UK soldier is accused of raping a woman near the British Army training camp in Kenya, where he had previously been accused of killing another soldier.
The alleged rape occurred last month near the Kenya British Army (Batuk) training unit near Naniuki, 200 km (125 miles) north of the capital, Nairobi.
The man was arrested and questioned after the alleged incident after a group of soldiers visited the bar in the city.
The British military police are investigating from a serious crime unit, which is considering the crimes allegedly committed by British officials in the UK and abroad.
The UK Defense Ministry confirmed in a statement that a “official” was arrested in Kenya.
“Our armed forces do not have an unacceptable and criminal behavior, and any report on a serious crime, serving staff, investigated regardless of their team network,” the fashion said.
The alleged rape with the participation of a soldier from the British base in Kenya stems from previous allegations that a soldier located in Kenya participated in the murder of a local woman in 2012.
The body of Agnes Wandzhir, which was 21 years old, and the mother of one, was found in a septic tank near Batuka’s base three weeks after she had disappeared, allegedly spending the evening with British soldiers.
In 2021, The Sunday Times reported that a British soldier was believed to be responsible for her murder.
The fashion has since stated that it has been cooperating with the Kenyan investigation into the incident.
Batuka’s base was established in 1964 shortly after the Eastern African nation gained independence from the UK.
In the UK, the military has an agreement with Kenya, according to which it can deploy up to six army battalions a year for periods of study at this place.
But the British army faced a number of allegations of the behavior of some UK staff at the camp.
A public investigation created by Keni MPs last year heard the details of allegedly cruel treatment of the locals British soldiers.
The allegations, including the registered incident, claim that some British soldiers became pregnant with local women before giving up on them and their children when they returned to the UK.
