Ryan Garcia posted his reaction to X being ambushed by Bill and Devin Haney at the Ring Awards in London last Saturday night. The Haneys confronted Garcia as he left, and Bill barked, “You’re squatting.”

“You can smell the desperation,” Ryan told X about the Haneys.
It’s clear that Bill and Devin are absolutely desperate to rematch Garcia because it’s the biggest payday available for Dev, and he needs to avenge the embarrassing beating Kingry suffered last April in front of a Barclays Center Arena full of Brooklyn, New. York.
The alternatives for Haney aren’t that great if he can’t get the rematch with Ryan. Turki Al-Shiekh will want Devin to fight someone with talent, and he could go down if the guy has power. A Haney loss would permanently ruin his chances of a rematch with Garcia, and you have to wonder how Turki would view him afterward. He could wear out his welcome with another loss.
Garcia said Bill and Devin need to drop their lawsuit against him for any chance of negotiating a fight. So far, they haven’t. So it’s unclear why the Haneys continue to talk about seeing the rematch with Ryan as a “priority” in 2025.
Garcia says it’s not just the lawsuit that opposes a rematch with Garcia. They will have to agree to another drug testing agency because Kingry refuses to use VADA. He feels that he is “fish” that Bill is pushing so hard for this agency, and he suspects.
