“Smart Boxing”: Danny Garcia defends Haney’s style after Ramírez’s struggle, rejecting critics

Former World Champion of two divisions, Danny Garcia, says it was “Smart” For Devin Haney to use his “non -run” style Friday night against Jose Ramirez in Times Square. He says that Haney (32-0, 15 kos) is a “boxer” and will not stand in front of Ramirez to let him hit.

The price of safety

Haney needed a great performance to redeem -after his loss in Ryan Garcia last year. This effort was not what I needed so made it less marketed for future fights. Danny Garcia does not see this angle because the sport has changed a lot since 2012, when it was at its best. Fighters cannot become the first garbage actions and hope that the upper dollar will be paid.
