Russian authorities report that six people were killed, including a child, as a result of a Ukrainian strike in Russia’s Kursk region.
The acting governor of the region added that 10 people were taken to the hospital after the attack on the city of Rilsk.
The cultural center, physical culture and health complex, school and residential buildings were damaged, the governor added.
It came after Ukrainian officials said Moscow launched a new missile strike on Kiev that reportedly damaged a building in the center of the city that housed six embassies.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the diplomatic missions of Albania, Argentina, North Macedonia, Palestine, Portugal and Montenegro were affected. It is still unclear whether the building was directly targeted.
According to the Ukrainian military, at least one person was killed and nine were injured in the strike, which damaged a number of buildings in the city.
The head of the European Union (EU), Ursula von der Leyen, condemned Friday’s attack on the Ukrainian capital, calling it “another disgusting Russian attack on Kyiv.”
Russia has not yet commented.
The Ukrainian military said Russia launched 65 drones and missiles across the country overnight, most of which were shot down.
The country’s air force said it shot down all five Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles launched by Russia at Kiev on Friday morning, with the debris damaging five areas of the city.
So far, none of the embassy’s diplomats have been injured.
Portuguese Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel told local media: “It is absolutely unacceptable that attacks harm or target diplomatic facilities.”
