Minority leader in the Senate Chuck Shumer On Wednesday, he said he feels “completely safe” in Washington, and that Republicans who say that DC is dangerous, “full.”
During interview With lawyer Aaron Parnassus in his Parnassus podnius, Shumer asked about the federalization of President Donald Trump’s DC police forces.
“I want to get your reaction to everything that’s going on in DC,” Parnassus said. “But, first, many people on the republican side, your republican colleagues, say they are very afraid to walk on the street in the DC, what they believe it is quite right. Senator, you are afraid to walk on Washington, Colombia county, these days?”

“No,” Sumer replied. “I go all the time. I wake up early in the morning and take a good walk when the sun rises around the Capitol and other monuments and things. And I feel completely safe.”
On Monday, Trump announced that he would take control of the DC Police Department and deploy 800 National Guard troops in the country’s capital.
