Former Indian Cricter Sanjay Manjrekar shared his reflections on Shubman Gill’s aggressive approach during the third test against England in Lord’s. Manjrekar stated that Gill has never been naturally burning, unlike Kohli, whose aggressive attitude has always been visible even before becoming Captain.
Shubman Gill faced criticism after India’s defeat in England in the third test at Lord’s, where they failed to pursue a 193 -goal goal. Gill was charged with failure under pressure during the Lord’s test. He was also involved in several heated field moments, including a verbal shoulder with Zak Crawley on the 3rd.

Sanjay Manjrekar questioned Shubman Gill’s aggression during the third test. Speaking to Espncricinfo, Manjrekar compared Gill to Virat Kohli. He added that Gill has become aggressive due to recent success and growing confidence after scoring a lot and gaining a captain.

“If Shubman Gill had a burning side for him, we would have seen it a little earlier. You should not show -when you are the captain. Or he showed it because he has this confidence now that he has won a test game and that he has so many spnicinfo clues.

Sanjay Manjrekar said Gill’s father could play a key role in conforming his future as a leader. Manjrekar added that only his father would know if Gill follows the aggressive style of Kohli, the quiet approach to Mrs. Dhoni or somewhere in the middle.
“There are a lot of good people around him. His father (who played a great role as he grew up pursuing a career in the cricket), in fact, would know, know his son, whether a kohli shot, potential kohli or (ms) dhoni or somewhere.”
“I guess somewhere in between. So you have to find your own way. But whatever the way you are, it must be a way that will improve your leadership qualities and make it a better baptism,” said Manjrekar.
Shubman Gill shines with the BAT series in England-India
Gill has been the outstanding interpreter of India with the bat in the ongoing series. It has marked 607 runs in six entrances with an average of more than 101.
Gill scored a double century (269) in the second test in Edgbaston, the highest score in an Indian in England and also the highest by an Indian captain.
The batter on the right followed it with a century more in the second post, ending with 430 runs in the game, the second highest in the history of the tests after the 456 Graham Gooch.
However, India Trail 1-2 of the series after a narrow loss of 22 runs in Lord’s, where Gill won only 22 routes for two entrances. The fourth test will begin on Wednesday, July 23 at Old Trafford.
India needs a victory to keep it alive in the series. Above all, they have never won an Old Trafford test in nine attempts, with four defeats and five draws. His last appearance in 2014 ended in a defeat of the tickets.
