The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the candidates for the month’s male player for July 2025 on Wednesday, August 6. Team India Captain Shubman Gill and the pattern of England, Ben Stokes, are nominated for the prestigious ICC Award, along with South Africa, Wiaan Mulder.
India and England produced an exciting series of tests that concluded in a 2-2 draw. Above all, blue men had also drawn their 2021-22 Tour in England by the same margin. No visiting side has won a series of tests in this rivalry since England, under Alastair, has succeeded in India during the 2012-13 tour.
Shubman Gill among ICC player candidates in July
Shubman Gill had an exceptional month during the India Testing series in England. He scored 567 runs in three games with an average of 94.50. Recorded scores of 269 and 161 in the second test. His 430 -thrown account in this match is the second highest in a single test, only behind Graham Gooch’s 456.

Shubman Gill fought in the third test, but bounced back on the fourth test at Old Trafford, where he scored a second century (103) who helped India attract the game. It was essential to achieve a 2-2 result in the series.
The 25 -year -old has increased in the absence of a Kohli shot and has provided much needed stability. With the great scores of Shubman Gill under the pressure and his leadership qualities, Gill is a strong contestant for the Player of the Month of the ICC.
Ben Stokes to compete with Shubman Gill for prestigious ICC Award
Ben Stokes offered performances all the time during the July series of the test series. He scored 251 runs at an average of 50.20 and collected 12 doctors at 26.33 in just three games. Their contributions were crucial to help England make a 2-1 lead before losing the final test in the oval.
Stokes was appointed match player in two consecutive games. He scored twins in the 1950’s at Lord’s to guide England to a 22 -year victory over India. In Manchester’s fourth test, he produced one of his best performances, taking five doctors and scoring 141 runs to help England publish a total of mammoths.
The pattern of England launched long spells and provided key advances in changing the impulse in favor of his team. Its leadership was vital throughout the series. Stokes is also expected to be a strong contestant for the Player of the Month of the ICC Award.
Wiaan Mulder wins the candidacy for the ICC Player of the MES for July
Wiaan Mulder also obtained a candidacy for the CPI player in July after a stellar performance in the South African test series against Zimbabwe. Captured the side for the first time in the format during the series.
The SUV took headlines with 367 unbeaten in the second test: the highest individual score in a south -African in the history of the tests.
In the two -game series, Mulder accumulated 531 runs at an average of 265.50, including 147 in the first test. He also contributed to the ball, taking seven doctors, including a four-wicket transportation in the opening match. His integral brightness earned him a series player prize.
