Team India Batter Shreyas Iyer was appointed CPI men’s player for March after his impressive performances during the ICC 2025 Champions Trophy. The Indian batter is delighted to receive the prestigious prize after the victory of the team led by Rohit Sharma at the tournament of eight teams.
New Zealand Duo, Rachin Ravindra and Jacob Duffy, were also nominated for the month player for March. Iyer scored them to win the prize after their impressive performances. The batter became the second Indian Cricter to win the recognition this year, after the victory of Shubman Gill in February.
Shreyas Iyer was the highest scorer in India on the ICC Champions Trophy. He played a key role in the team’s triumph, ending a 12 -year -old drought in important hatred. Iyer scored 79 vital against New Zealand in a difficult playing ground in Dubai during the group stage.
The 30 -year -old batter scored 45 runs in the semifinal against Australia. He finished the tournament with 48 runs in the final against New Zealand. The team led by Rohit Sharma successfully pursued the goal to win the ICC 50-OVER title for the first time since 2013.
Iyer accumulated 243 runs from five games to an average of 48.60, with a strike rate near 80. It was the second highest scorer, just behind Rachin Ravindra.
Speaking to the CPI after being named player of the month, Shreyas Iyer said that being recognized with the prize was really special. He shared how much the victory meant in the Champions League trophy, adding that it would be a appreciated memory.
“I am really honored to be named ICC’s male player for March. This recognition is incredibly special, especially in a month when we raised the ICC champions trophy, a moment I will appreciate forever,” said Iyer.

Shreyas Iyer is currently capturing the Punjab Kings (PBKs) in the current IPL season. He has helped the team to get three five -game wins. The right batter has scored 250 runs in five games, with an average of 83.33 and a strike rate of 208.33.
Iyer’s performance has also put it in containment to return to T20i. It is expected that the middle order batter will be reinstated in the pool of hired players of the BCCI.
He has shown his dedication to the domestic cricket representing Mumbai in several tournaments during the 2024-25 season, including the Ranji Trophy, the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
