While it was unclear when they started dating, Ohtani announced in February 2024 which he had officially tied the knot.

“Not only have I (have started) a new chapter in my career with the Dodgers but I have (started) a new life with someone from my hometown of Japan which is very special to me and I wanted everyone to know that I am now married,” he shared in Instagram Post. “I’m excited about what’s to come to thank for your support.”

After making their first red carpet appearance at the Dodgers Foundation Blue Diamond Gala in May 2024, the couple shared that they Expect their first baby together.

“Can’t wait for the little rookie to join our family soon!” Ohtani wrote through Instagram In December 2024 alongside a picture of pink onesie, white baby shoes, sonogram and their dog, Decoy.

February 2024

Ohtani revealed that he tied the knot with someone from Japan, but did not share her name or when they married.

“We are still young and (there are) many things we don’t know yet, but we hope you warmly watch over us,” he wrote in Japanese in Instagram post at the time. “We hope that we (and one dog) will work together to support each other and move alongside our supporters.”

March 2024

A few weeks after the announcement of their marriage, the duo made their first social media after the Dodgers X account. He posted a picture of Ohtani with his arm around a woman who was later known as his wife, Tanaka.

“Wheels up to Seoul,” wrote Dodgers account alongside the picture.

May 2024

The couple made their first appearance on the red carpet at Diamond Blue Dodgers Foundation gala.

September 2024

According to a video shared by Dodgers Nation via xTanaka was seen celebrating with Ohtani and their dog, Decoy, on the field after the team won the NL West. Later, the Dodgers went on to win the 2024 World Series.

December 2024

Ohtani and Tanaka took to social media to share that they were expecting their first child, a little girl.

April 2025

The star of the Dodgers divided through heartbreak Instagram Post that he and Tanaka welcomed a daughter to “The Ohtani Family” on April 19.

“I’m so grateful to my loving wife who gave birth to our beautiful healthy daughter,” wrote Ohtani through Instagram. “To my daughter, thank you for making us very nervous but extremely anxious parents.”

He continued, “I would also like to thank the Dodgers Foundation, my fellow players, and supporters for their constant support and kind words of encouragement. I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to all the medical professionals and all who dedicated their support to us, up to this wonderful day.”
