Japanese boxer Shigetoshi Kotari died. It was 28.
“Rest in peace, Shigetoshi Kotari 🕊”The World Boxing Foundation wrote in a Friday, August 8 statement, shared by X. “The boxing world mourns for the tragic pass of the Japanese fighter Shigetoshi Kotari, who surrendered to injuries obtained during his August 2nd title battle.”
The message continued, “A warrior in the area. A fighter in spirit. Gone too soon. Our thoughts and prayers with his family, team, and whole boxing community.”

“Kamiashi Shigeri has died to heaven,” read the message. “Thank you for all the love in their lifetime.”
He read a second tribute, “Aramotokun swore to become a champion on Shige’s final moment. So I fully believe it will achieve it!”
Kotari’s brother also noted that an exile song “One Love” reminds him of his late brother or sister.
“Shige, don’t just remember. Don’t forget,” wrote on Saturday, August 9, sharing a carousel of family pictures. “Please, I urge you.”
