Over Shawn Ashmorehe has had to go against his twin, Aaron AshmoreFor roles throughout their careers.
“When we were making ads, they would call us back in after we had two auditions,” said Shawn, 45, only Weekly US Before the premiere of his new film, It feeds. “And (they) said, ‘We love you guys. And so it’s fair, we’re going to flip a coin so you can see it’s not a favorable treatment.’
Shawn admitted that the throwing up was not just a one-time circumstance.
“That happened four or five times where they would say, ‘Hey, come on, come in, we’re going to hire one of you.
While having a job is not ideally determined, Shawn admitted that the method actually helped him and Aaron, 45, to handle the rejection.
“That was a very good thing for us to learn that it wasn’t as if one person was chosen over the other,” he admitted. “It was like, ‘We like both of you. We can only hire one. Let’s flip a coin.'”
Shawn and Aaron were Start as children In Toronto works on various ads. Their first gig came when a casting agent came to them for a toy ad – which was ideal at the time.
“That sounds great. We have to come in and play with toys,” he remembered. “He heard both of us.”
Eventually, Aaron ordered the role but came down with the flu – who worked out in favor of Shawn.
“My mother brought us both to set and my mother was like, ‘You hit it, but it’s sick like a dog. So I came with his twin.’ “So I have to thank Aaron for my big break because if he hadn’t ordered that commercial, we might still not.”
Since that ad, Shawn has gone on to star on multiple TV series including The rookie. The following. The boys and more. Currently he stars in the horror movie It feeds sides Ashley Greene. Shawn plays Randall Harris who is the father of the occupied Riley girl. When trying to save his child, Randall takes extreme and violent measures to save her life. While going to a character, Shawn admitted that “never looked at Randall as a villain.”
“If we watched this movie through Randall’s perspective, he would be the hero. In a way, he makes horrific choices, right? But I understood the bad choices he was making,” he said to Us. “Because he is in an impossible position. He has just watched his wife wither away from a circumstance he has not understood as he begins to understand what this thing is, his daughter is in danger, and he is in danger of losing his daughter.”
While working on the film, Shawn had to spend some quality time with his brother who lived nearby.
“I chose to stay with my brother as we shot the film,” he said. “So when I came home from shooting these very intense scenery, I had to socialize with my nieces, I had to socialize with my brother.”
