Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has signed Shane Mcdermott, Australian field specialist, Shane McDermott, as the new field coach through the three formats. “Pakistan has assured the services of the renowned Australian field specialist Shane McDermott as field coach of all format,” sources at Telecom Asia Sport confirmed on Friday.
“McDermott is highly recommended for the new main coach of Pakistan’s white ball, Mike Hesson, and is expected to join the squad ahead of the three -game T20i series against Bangladesh. An official announcement is expected at the end of this week,” the report said.
The experience of Shane McDermott field coach of national and international teams
Shane Mcdermott served as a field assistant coach for Bangladesh’s national side between 2022 and 2023. He left after disagreement with the main coach Chandika Hathurusinghe.
Following his departure from Bangladesh, McDermott joined the configuration of Afghanistan coach and acclaimed to help guide the team in the semifinals of the T20 ICC World Cup in June 2024.
