Seven young men who died at the event

Seven Mexican boys were shot dead at a celebration organized by the Catholic Church in the Central State of Guanada.

The militants opened fire on a group of people left behind in the central square of the village of San Bartal -De -Berrios after an event organized by a local parish.

Eyewitnesses said the attackers went directly to the village square in the first hours and fired dozens of shots seemingly by accident.

The authorities have not yet said what motive the shooting could be, but the reports that have made their way through the signs remaining in several nearby places show that he was carried out by the Santa Cartel de Lima.

While attacks on nightclubs, bars and roasting sites are not unusual in the Mexican states affected by Cartel’s violence, an attack on the event organized by the Catholic Church is rare.

Mexico’s Episcopal Conference, which represents the bishops of the country, condemned the deadly shooting, saying that “could not remain indifferent to the spiral of violence that injured so many communities.”

Local Archbishop Jaime Calderon also issued a statement accused of attacking the territory between competitive cartels.

Guannada Zhut, where San Bartal -De -Berrios is located, had the largest number of murders in Mexico in 2024, a total of 2597 murders.

Both the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJng), and the Santa -Roz -De -glaim Cartel actively act in the state and were closed in the deadly battle for control over the territory.

While both groups are involved in extortion and drug trafficking, they are also increasingly entering pipelines that pass through the state that transfer gasoline from refineries to the main distribution points.

Practice Theft and Sales of Fuel on the Black Market – Known as Huachicoleo – is the main source of profit for criminal groups in the region.

In the struggle for territorial gang control, they are often trying to spread fear against the background of the local population to ensure their silence and preservation.

Bloody pictures, such as San Bartal -De -Berrios, and the subsequent reflection of threatening messages is a particularly brutal way to show that they have expanded to a certain city.

Residents of San Bartolu -de -Berrios stated that about 100 shots came out on Monday in the early hours on Monday.

They said that the scene on the central square resembled a “bloody bath” with the bodies of seven young men, two of whom under the age of 18, scattered on the sidewalk.

Until now, no arrests have been made in connection with the attack.
