Seven killed in a bus disaster

The collision between the excursion bus and the truck near the Yelaston National Park killed seven people, and eight more were injured on Thursday.

Police were warned about the catastrophe at 19:15 local time (02:15 GMT) when the Chevy and the minibus, which transported 14 tourists, collided on the highway in Eastern Iido, state police said.

Both vehicles caught fire. A truck driver and six passengers died in a minibus.

Police still investigates the reason. The highway where the accident occurred, leads to the park, which now enters its peak season.

The photo from the passerby shows that the smoke blows and the flames near the crumpled truck hood.

A witness who took a photo, local resident Roger Maryl, told the BBC CBS News partner that he was on the way home, seeing how the scene was unfolding.

According to him, both vehicles were on fire, and random people tried to take care of those who survived on the highway side.

“This is a very dangerous highway because it leads to the main entrance to Yelaston National Park,” he said. “It’s extremely busy.”

The highway was closed for seven o’clock until the emergency teams cost the victims and cleared the catastrophe, approximately 16 miles from the entrance of Yelaston.

Police said Coronar’s local office would release the dead after reported by family members.

Yelaston, the oldest National Park in the US, covers almost 3,500 sq.m in three states, including Iidakh, Wyoming and Montana.

It attracts an average of four million tourists each year, most visitors come from May to September, the National Park service reports.
