Berlin was a rather impressive sports feat when Serena Williams received a record 23rd title at the Australian Open 2017 championship, winning Venus’s sister in the finals. Shortly after the opening: she was pregnant at the time.
“I don’t know how I did it, frankly,” Williams said at the event on Wednesday, choosing the moment as the most important of her tennis career.
It was a pretty career – after winning its first grand slam at the US Open in 1999, Williams became the only player who reached the Golden Slam – winning the open Australian Open Championship, French Open, Wimbledon and the United States, and receiving the Olympic Gold Medal.
“I don’t know what I was doing then, I was pregnant nine weeks … I remember I couldn’t run long,” Williams said at the Superreturn Private Equity conference in Berlin.
“I didn’t tell anyone. I mean, Venus knew, and I still feel very bad about it because the deep part feels like we played each other in the finals, I probably knew, and she probably felt some deep burden to go even further. But she was just one of two people.”
Symptoms of early pregnancy can be intense because the body undergoes a huge transformation, with the help of hormones that often lead to fatigue, breathing and nausea.
“I remember saying that I have to do a lot of ace, I have to do a lot of winners,” Williams continued, citing a point that was recruited directly from the submission. “I can only play, for example, four goals and I finished.”
“I remember once played a long point against one player and I couldn’t breathe. And I like it as I don’t see that I am not able to breathe now, and so I just lost the next moment to just try to return my energy. But then I liked: why did I play so far pregnancy?”

“I remember at one point, walking on the site in Wimbledon, and my partner at the time called me about the transaction we tried to close,” she reminded.

“Now, as an athlete, we are in that if you are only in basketball, or if you only play football, if you only do tennis, what else do you do? So we gave people such a platform that it is normal. You can also be an entrepreneur.
